Job Summary

Service, repair, replace, and maintain kitchen appliances including freezers, dishwashers, ovens, and pumps by replacing components like motors, Freon, belts, and valves. Install equipment, run conduit, pull wire, and repair electrical lines, motors, and switches. Maintain heating and refrigeration units on food carts, fabricate mounts, and assemble kitchen racks and carts. Replace pipes, faucets, and switches; locate and repair leaks; clear blockages from sinks and disposals. Maintain records of materials and time spent on jobs and recommend repair or replacement of specific equipment. Provide exceptional customer service to patrons while adhering to company policies, training programs, and attendance guidelines within a 24-hour schedule.

Required Qualifications

18 years of age or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Five (5) years of experience in the journey-level repairs of kitchen equipment
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, electronic and refrigeration methods, current technology, principles and practices related to institutional kitchens
Knowledge of circuit tracing and troubleshooting skills related to electric motors, pumps, compressors, and electronic sensors
Knowledge of current refrigeration technology and EPA regulations
Valid driver's license
Ability to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier
Excellent communication skills
Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees
Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
Adequate manual dexterity to operate small and large kitchen equipment
Ability to work in wet, cold, hot, and greasy conditions inside and outside central kitchen areas
Ability to work in confined areas including over ceilings, through crawl spaces, and on roofs, climbing ladders to and from roof to repairs or replace motors and ventilation equipment
Ability to occasionally lift over fifty (50) pounds
