Job Summary
Install, service, and repair commercial kitchen appliances including kettles, steamers, refrigerators, and ovens using hand tools, test equipment, and manufacturer specifications. Replace defective parts such as switches, pumps, bearings, and wiring while reassembling units, adjusting pulleys, and lubricating moving parts. Perform preventive maintenance checks and services based on Army regulations and equipment manuals, reading operation and maintenance instructions as required. This role supports Fort Jackson, SC, with a base pay of $25.72 per hour plus $5.08 per hour in Health and Welfare fringe benefits. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED, and EPA/CFESA certifications are highly preferred. A Public Trust level security clearance is required, necessitating US citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- Valid drivers license
- At least (1) year experience installing/repairing/maintaining Food Service Equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level
- US Citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) certification
- CFESA (Commercial Food Equipment Service Association) Certification
- Experience working with gas, electric and steam appliances
- A familiarity with the military
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
