Job Summary
Appeals Examiner role based in West Sacramento, CA (On-site) focusing on reviewing provider appeals using established guidelines, researching and documenting appeal determinations, and correcting claim data as needed. The position requires 2+ years of medical claims/appeals experience, familiarity with medical insurance and terminology, and strong accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HIPAA confidentiality is expected. You will work in an on-site office setting with a schedule of 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., contribute to meeting production and quality standards, and support workflow improvements in healthcare benefits processing.
Required Qualifications
- Total of (2) years or more in medical claims and appeals experience
- Experience working with medical insurance and/or medical terminology
- Highly proficient with exceptional level of accuracy
- Ability to research and verify claim payment issues
- Knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel and TEAMS)
