APP Urology - Liberty Hospital

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Urology at Liberty Hospital delivers comprehensive outpatient/inpatient care for surgical patients across pre- and post-operative phases. Core duties include evaluating medical problems, developing diagnostically appropriate treatment plans, prescribing and monitoring medications, requesting consults to other specialties when indicated, providing patient and family education on preventive care and treatments, documenting evaluations and care in accordance with NCQA, Joint Commission, and state standards, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. The APP collaborates with the sponsoring physician under a Collaborative Practice Agreement, maintains appropriate documentation for coding and billing, and supports ongoing clinical operations through inter-disciplinary teamwork and communication with Program/Medical Directors. Required education and licensure include an accredited Master’s degree (PA, APRN, or DNP per pathway), board certification or eligibility (PA-C, APRN, or equivalent), and active licensure in Kansas and/or Missouri with ACLS/BLS and any specialty certifications pertinent to ICU/inpatient care; prior APRN experience is preferred. The role emphasizes clinical and technical competencies across acute care surgical settings, with responsibilities that may evolve by department and facility needs.
