Job Summary
Autonomous APP role in Hematology & Oncology at Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Kearney, supporting outpatient/inpatient care for complex hematologic and oncologic conditions. Responsibilities include autonomous clinic visits, patient triage, procedures (e.g., intrathecal chemotherapy, bone marrow biopsy, lumbar puncture), potential inpatient consults and rounding, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Schedule features four 8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM–5:00 PM), with 1 of every 6 weekends on-call and 1 holiday per year on-call rotation. Emphasis on compassionate, evidence-based care in a high-acuity setting; requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and ability to work in emotionally challenging environments.
Required Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner Master's degree from an accredited program
- Current RN license in Nebraska or compact state
- APRN license in good standing
- Appropriate advanced practice certifications based on population served (e.g., AGACNP-BC, ANP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGPCNP-BC, FNP-BC, PA-C depending on role)
- Ability to obtain/maintain required CME hours and state/NCCPA certifications
- Eligibility to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider in Nebraska
- Experience in hematology/oncology or related specialty preferred
