Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Orthopedic Surgical-Total Joint in Kansas City/Overland Park delivers care for surgical patients across ambulatory, acute, and inpatient settings under a Collaborative Practice Agreement with supervising physicians. Responsibilities include evaluating medical problems, developing and implementing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing medications, providing patient and family education, ensuring documentation and coding/billing compliance, coordinating with the inter-disciplinary team, and facilitating referrals or higher level care as needed. Requires a Master's degree in PA or advanced practice nursing (or Doctor of Nursing Practice), licensure as PA-C or APRN in KS/MO, and current ACLS/BLS certifications with any additional specialty certifications as required by the role.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant OR Master Degree Nursing from an accredited program in Advanced Practice Nursing for APRNs OR Doctor of Nursing Practice from an accredited program in Advanced Practice Nursing for APRNs
- Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) - State Board of Healing Arts or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) - State Board of Nursing license for KS/MO
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Advanced practice certification required (APRNs may obtain within one year of hire)
