Job Summary
The APP Occupational Health role provides general health care for employees of contracted organizations, identifies workplace hazards, coordinates medical care for employees with injuries or chronic conditions, and works under a Collaborative Practice Agreement with a sponsoring physician. Responsibilities include utilizing telehealth modalities, evaluating medical problems, requesting consults as needed, educating patients on preventive care and treatments, documenting evaluations and care in alignment with NCQA and Joint Commission standards, ensuring coding and billing compliance, coordinating with physicians and the inter-disciplinary team, and performing medical and emergency interventions as appropriate. Requires a Master’s degree in nursing or a related advanced practice field, and active licensure as PA or APRN with BLS certification; DOT certification is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Master Degree Nursing or higher OR Master's Degree in Physician Assistant
- Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) - State Board of Healing Arts OR Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) - State Board of Nursing
- Copy of the current advanced practice license for the State of Kansas and/or Missouri (depending on practice locations) OR copy of the current APN license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- BLS Advanced practice certification commensurate with training (PA or APRN)
- Specific certification may be required depending on specialty practice area
