Job Summary
Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join the Occupational Medicine team at MercyOne Clinton North Health Plaza in Clinton, IA. Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the provider serves as a self-directed healthcare professional, consultant, and coordinator of care, promoting employee health and safety through clinical care, compliance oversight, and injury management. Key duties include assessing and treating work-related injuries and illnesses, managing the Workers' Compensation program, conducting pre-employment health assessments and DOT exams, supporting immunization programs, administering and managing the bloodborne pathogen exposure and response plan, and collaborating with employers, HR, safety teams, and external providers on safety and return-to-work strategies. The role emphasizes compliance with occupational health regulations, maintaining confidential health records, and an onsite outpatient practice with a competitive benefits package including CME allowance and loan forgiveness eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in Illinois & Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the provider’s field of practice
