Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant needed to join a San Antonio–Helotes multi-specialty clinic. Responsibilities include interviewing members for medical history, performing physical examinations, ordering labs and diagnostics, prescribing medications, and recommending treatments; providing continuity of care for patients with long-term conditions; coordinating referrals; performing medical procedures within issued privileges; conducting health maintenance visits and immunizations; performing employment and special physical exams; STD screening, family planning, and health education; accurate documentation in the electronic medical record; participating in care-team meetings and clinical committees; contributing to quality initiatives and organizational priorities; requires TX PA/NP licensure, NCCPA or ANCC/ANP certification, DEA and CPR certification, valid TX driver’s license, and ability to credential and privilege; strong teamwork, independent clinic operation capability, and excellent communication; preferred bilingual English/Spanish and 2+ years in primary care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner Program and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
- Current licensure as a PA/NP to practice in the State of Texas
- Licensed and certified to practice in Family Medicine
- Current DEA and CPR certification
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Ability to meet and maintain current organizational credentialing and privileging requirements
- Comfortable working as a solo provider in a clinic team setting
- Computer literacy with ability to navigate electronic health record systems
- Excellent customer service skills and professional communication
- Ability to interact effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds
- Strong teamwork capabilities while maintaining ability to function independently
- Sound judgment, flexibility to shift priorities, and commitment to confidentiality
- Preferred: 2+ years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a primary care setting
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
