Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Neonatal Nocturnist in the NICU: manage health problems and coordinate care for neonatal patients within an expanded coverage model, develop treatment plans, prescribe and monitor medications, order consults, provide family education, ensure compliant documentation per NCQA/Joint Commission/state standards, collaborate with physicians and the inter-disciplinary team, and participate in quality/process improvement initiatives. Requires completion of an accredited APP/NP/PA program and active APRN or PA licensure in KS/MO, plus BLS; NRP preferred. The role emphasizes collaboration with the physician sponsor and adherence to collaborative practice agreements, with duties spanning evaluation, treatment planning, and medical interventions in the NICU.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant OR Master Degree Nursing from accredited program in Advanced Practice Nursing for APRNs OR Doctor of Nursing Practice from accredited program in Advanced Practice Nursing for APRNs
- Previous Neonatal ICU experience
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license (KS or MO) or Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) license (KS or MO) depending on practice location
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) - AHA
- NRP preferred
