Job Summary

Conduct patient interviews, document histories, and perform physical examinations under physician direction. Order and perform laboratory tests, x-rays, and procedures including cast application, wound suturing, and dressing changes. Collaborate with physicians to diagnose medical problems, develop care plans, and prescribe treatments while educating patients on health habits and medication. Prepare statistical reports on research protocols and train healthcare professionals in specialized techniques. Maintain accurate patient records and participate in organizational health services committees. Requires current Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure, ANCC or NCCPA certification, and at least one year of high acuity clinical experience. Shift work and bio-hazardous exposure may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body
  • Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia
  • At least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties
  • PALS, BLS, or ACLS certification (may be required in some areas)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs max
  • Ability to carry objects up to 25 lbs
  • Occasional to frequent standing & walking
  • Occasional sitting
  • Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
  • Ability to work in an environment with Blood-borne pathogen exposure
  • Ability to work in an environment with Bio-hazardous waste
  • Ability to work in an environment with Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors
  • Ability to work in an environment with Communicable diseases
  • Ability to work in an environment with Electrical shock
  • Ability to work in an environment with Floor Surfaces
  • Ability to work in an environment with Hot/Cold Temperatures
  • Ability to work in an environment with Indoor/Outdoor conditions
  • Ability to work in an environment with Latex
  • Ability to work in an environment with Lighting
  • Ability to work in an environment with Patient care/handling injuries
  • Ability to work in an environment with Radiation
  • Ability to work in an environment with Shift work
  • Ability to travel (Travel may be required)
