Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) role focuses on comprehensive gynecology care in ambulatory and affiliated settings, delivering pre-procedure evaluations, integrated assessments, and development of individualized care plans in collaboration with Ob/Gyn faculty. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic procedures, coordinating discharge planning, teaching residents and students, mentoring nursing staff, and participating in interdisciplinary rounds and committees. The position requires mastery of clinical guidelines and protocols, strong teaching abilities, and the ability to manage care across the age continuum while maintaining safe, high-quality patient outcomes. Coverage between Bridgeport and Fairmont sites is required, with a broad scope of gynecologic care and coordination of follow-up tests and procedures, documentation of care plans in medical records, and active engagement in performance improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (for NP track) and national certification for APRN or PA required; PA must have ARC-PA accreditation and NCCPA certification; WV licensure or eligibility; BLS with possible ACLS; WHNP preferred for NP track; Gyn or acute care experience preferred; 40-hour work week; demonstrated teaching and leadership abilities; strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work across ambulatory and inpatient settings; coverage between Bridgeport and Fairmont sites; competency in documentation and coding; commitment to performance improvement and patient outcomes
