Job Summary
Conduct patient interviews, document histories, and perform physical examinations under physician direction. Order and perform laboratory tests, x-rays, and diagnostic procedures while assisting with cast application, wound suturing, and dressing changes. Develop care plans, prescribe treatments, and educate patients on health habits and medication management. Maintain accurate medical records, interpret diagnostic data, and prepare statistical reports for research protocols. Train healthcare professionals and participate in organizational committees to maintain current clinical trends.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
- Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body
- Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia
- At least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties
- PALS, BLS, or ACLS certification
