Apiary Team Leader (Internal Candidates Only)

Job Summary
Apiary Team Leader to oversee hive operations in the Wairarapa region from Masterton. Lead and develop beekeepers, drive operational excellence to secure strong honey yields and optimal hive health, supervise hive preparation and performance to meet targets, manage disease control, and maintain access to apiary sites via landowners. The role combines hands-on hive management with leadership responsibilities and requires experience in commercial beekeeping, bee husbandry, and producing high-quality Manuka honey. Based in Masterton; in-person work with the Apiary Manager support. Vehicle operation in off-road NZ conditions is required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years’ commercial beekeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of bee husbandry, hive management, and honey production
- Ability to identify and manage bee diseases (AFB certification preferred)
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Confidence operating vehicles in off-road NZ conditions
