Job Summary
Conduct internal and external inspections on pressure vessels, piping, and above-ground storage tanks to certify compliance and recommend repairs per API 510, 570, and 653 standards. Perform visual inspections of completed work, prioritize assignments by specific deadlines, and deliver reports to clients while adhering to strict safety procedures in noisy plant and shop environments. Schedule inspection activities, complete required training and tests, and fill out customer and company forms. Work outdoors and in confined spaces, often changing assignments on short notice, with periodic travel out of town.
Required Qualifications
- API certification (510, 570)
- at least one year of related experience
- high school diploma or equivalent
- proficiency with MS Word and Excel
- ability to write detailed inspection reports
- ability to lift and carry 35 pounds
- ability to climb, work at high elevations and work in confined spaces
- ability to walk and climb to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment
- ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells
- sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities
- sufficient vision or other powers of observation
- sufficient manual dexterity
