Job Summary
Apartment Maintenance Technician II for an Alexandria, VA apartment community. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and applying preventative maintenance to apartment homes, common areas, mechanical rooms, plumbing, electrical and appliance areas; conduct repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and general building maintenance; manage work orders and records via property management software; respond to after-hours and weekend emergencies on a rotating on-call schedule; maintain building safety systems (fire sprinklers/alarms); use hand and power tools; uphold company values and provide exceptional service to residents and teammates. Qualifications include 2+ years of maintenance experience, familiarity with safety systems, EPA Type II and/or CPO certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days), and ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with multifamily residential, commercial or hotel maintenance
- Familiarity with building safety systems including the fire systems (sprinklers/alarms)
- Ability to use smart devices and property management software for maintaining accurate records and work order completion
- Advanced knowledge of hand tools and basic power tools
- EPA Type II certification preferred or ability to become certified within 90 days of start date
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) preferred or ability to become certified within 90 days of start date
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, some weekend work and ability to participate in the on-call rotations
