Apartment Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure properties remain safe for occupants. Implement maintenance policies, check electrical wiring for compliance, and verify safety systems monthly. Clean and prepare vacated units for new residents while maintaining an inventory of tools and supplies. Participate in the on-call rotation to respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues outside normal hours. This role supports Fairstead's mission to deliver high-quality affordable housing across 28 states through a tech-forward, data-driven approach to property management.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and fixtures
- Knowledge of electricity to diagnose electrical problems and carry out minor repairs
- General maintenance skills
- Verbal and written communication skills for effective delivery of information
- Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift to 70 pounds without assistance
- Dexterity and attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification preferred
