Job Summary
Complete resident maintenance requests accurately and in a timely manner, diagnosing and performing repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and painting. Prepare vacant apartments for new residents through make-ready work, while conducting preventative maintenance and routine property inspections. Maintain common areas, building exteriors, and grounds, including seasonal snow and ice removal, and communicate larger repair needs to management. Travel between properties in Grand Forks and Fargo, operating an after-hours/on-call rotation for emergency requests. Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in organized condition. Valid driver's license and ability to lift 50 pounds required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing ladders, carrying materials, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous apartment, residential, property, or facilities maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliance repair, and basic HVAC troubleshooting
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work orders, and manage time effectively
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- High school diploma or GED
- HVAC/EPA certification
