Job Summary
Complete resident maintenance requests accurately and in a timely manner, diagnosing and performing general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and painting. Prepare vacant apartments for new residents with repairs, painting, and fixture replacement while conducting preventative maintenance and routine property inspections. Maintain common areas, building exteriors, and property grounds, including seasonal snow and ice removal, and communicate larger repair needs to management. Work independently across multiple Akron properties, operating hand and power tools safely, and participate in an after-hours/on-call rotation for emergency requests. Maintain company tools, equipment, and supplies in organized condition. Valid driver's license and ability to lift 50 pounds required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing ladders, carrying materials, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
Desired Qualifications
- Previous apartment, residential, property, or facilities maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliance repair, and basic HVAC troubleshooting
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work orders, and manage time effectively
- Good communication and customer service skills
- High school diploma or GED
- HVAC/EPA certification
