Job Summary
Remove, test, inspect, refurbish, and reinstall all valve actuator sizes and types from various manufacturers. Conduct diagnostic testing of air operated valves using the Site test platform, including inspections of overall condition, internal parts, and service-induced issues like abnormal wear. Repair and rebuild valve internals, determine part replacement needs, and adjust actuator bench settings, stroke parameters, and packing. Perform positioner and I/P rebuilds, calibrations, and adjustments for air supply regulators, limit switches, and solenoid valves. Complete documentation of findings via Site documents and procedures. Requires three years of industrial air operated valve repair experience and ability to lift 50 pounds to waist height.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years industrial air operated valve repair experience
- Familiar with tools and machinery required to perform daily valve repair duties
- Experience with repairing various valves and actuators, whether pneumatic, hydraulic or electric
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Willingness and ability to complete and pass all pre-employment and employment screening requirements which may include but are not limited to: Practical skills, other medical, psychological (if required by site), background and substance abuse screening(s)
- Must be a citizen of the US
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds to waist height and transport a distance of 10 feet
