AOV Mechanic (Journey Level) (2 positions)

Job Summary
Perform testing and repair functions on mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, turbines, plant piping, diesel engines, and subsystems. Execute maintenance and repair tasks such as removal, installation, alignment, seal rework, bearing replacement, and troubleshooting. Provide support for refueling activities including reactor head removal, cavity gate installation, and transfer cart repair. Identify hold points, additional problems, and proper replacement parts during work activities. Correlate work with other crafts and document all performed tasks. Adhere to plant procedures, policies, and Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements. Accept ERO and outage positions as needed. Maintain unescorted access and complete required General Employee Training. Don appropriate PPE while working in confined spaces, on uneven terrain, and near loud equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years as a Mechanic
- at least 1 year Air Operated Valve (AOV) experience
- Texas Driver's license
- Mechanical Journeyman Certification for Journeyman level
- Ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- ability to lift up 50lbs
- ability to ascend/descending stairs
- ability to ascend, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs
- ability to work in confined spaces
- ability to move safely over uneven or slippery terrain
- ability to work in proximity to loud equipment
- ability to work in possible inclement weather/temperature conditions
- Overtime and alternate work schedules
- Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week
- Travel may be required
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access
- Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) or other training as required for position
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree in a related mechanical field (science, mathematics, technology, or equivalent)
- 3 years of Air Operated Valve (AOV) experience
