Job Summary
Casual AOD Support Worker in the Sobering Up Unit (Adelaide) providing safety, stability and compassionate monitoring for adults who are intoxicated or experiencing withdrawal. Deliver trauma-informed care from presentation to discharge, maintain accurate documentation and incident reports, respond to high-risk situations with de-escalation, and collaborate with senior staff and external agencies to support safe discharge planning. Role requires 24/7 roster coverage with day, afternoon, and night shifts, and adherence to TSA policies while upholding values of safety, dignity, and respect.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Community Services (preferably AOD) or equivalent
- Experience supporting people with AOD concerns, homelessness or complex needs
- Ability to work within a 24/7 roster, including night shifts
- Strong communication skills and calm under pressure
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and harm minimisation principles
- Current SA Drivers Licence
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to apply)
- Current Accredited Comprehensive First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
