Job Summary
Special Education Teacher provides instruction to students with disabilities aligned to IEP goals; collaborates with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families; develops and monitors IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations; collects and analyzes student performance data to inform instructional decisions; differentiates instruction using evidence-based practices to support diverse learners; maintains accurate documentation, progress monitoring records, and compliance timelines; participates in IEP meetings, professional development activities, and school-based teams; fosters positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities endorsement or Teacher of the Handicapped certification required
- Appropriate New Jersey instructional certificate required
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred
