Anticipated Opening Grade 1 Teacher

Teaches district approved curriculum and develops lesson plans for Grade 1 students in Pre-K through 2, providing individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to each pupil. Communicates with parents outside the normal classroom day via newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to create an effective learning atmosphere. Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, maintains records, and prepares progress reports. Identifies pupil needs, makes referrals, and develops strategies for individualized education plans (IEPs). Provides differentiated instruction to accommodate diverse learners.
