Job Summary
Provide academic, career and social emotional support and intervention to middle school students in grades 6-8; manage a caseload of approximately 220 students; create, implement and manage Section 504 plans; participate on the I&RS team; conduct classroom lessons; develop and deliver school-wide programming aligned with NJDOE initiatives (e.g., Week of Respect); serve as a parent/guardian point of contact for academic and school-related concerns; assist administration with daily operations including arrival/dismissal and cafeteria coverage as needed. Responsible for collaboration with staff and community, and for implementing guidance program activities and career education resources while ensuring compliance with district policies and state requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Educational Services Endorsement - School Counselor
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community groups and organizations
- Broad knowledge of testing and evaluation, theories of individual and group guidance techniques and career educational information and placement
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
