Job Summary
Patrols school facilities and grounds to prevent disruptive or illegal actions, restrict access to restricted areas, theft and vandalism, and to maintain order while working with students and staff on safety and security matters. Responsible for enforcing safety procedures and crisis management under the supervision of the Director of Security or Program Supervisor; duties include applying security measures and coordinating responses to incidents within a school setting. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, NJ driver’s license, 20+ years of service in a NJ Police Agency with retirement in good standing, background checks, U.S. citizenship or legal residency, psychological and medical clearance, and possession of a NJ Permit to Carry a Handgun, SORA (red) license, and RPO. The role is full-time with 8-hour shifts (7:00 am – 3:00 pm) at Monroe Township Middle School, focusing on campus safety, order maintenance, and collaboration with staff to protect students and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid New Jersey driver's license
- 20+ years of service in a New Jersey Police Agency and retired in good standing
- Knowledge of security measures, fire prevention, and crowd control
- Ability to maintain order and to work with groups and individuals on matters of security and crisis management
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Must pass psychological and medical testing
- Must possess a valid State of New Jersey Permit to Carry a Handgun
- Must have SORA (red) license and RPO for New Jersey
