Job Summary
Support students' academic growth by teaching individuals and small groups, planning activities that meet their development levels, and resolving conflicts. Assist in data collection, track student growth, and prepare the classroom for instructional activities as directed by the teacher. Provide positive reinforcement, maintain confidentiality, and monitor safety while performing Activities of Daily Living including hygiene, feeding, toileting, and lifting. Engage in professional development and demonstrate flexibility adjusting to daily routines and administrative directives. Requires physical agility and strength with Safety Care Training; supervised by Building Administration and Special Education Supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, under the direction of the teacher, nurse and/or support staff.
- Ability to support and reinforce the teacher's expectations for students.
- Physical agility and strength, with Safety Care Training (SCT) or the ability to complete SCT training.
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of higher education is preferred.
