Job Summary
Anticipated Elementary Special Education Substantially Separate Teacher to deliver instruction and support services as outlined by IEPs and 504 Plans; collaborate with Evaluation Team Chairperson, School Psychologist, Regular Education and Special Education staff; participate in evaluation processes and TEAM meetings; promote integration of students with special needs; chair perfunctory Review and Annual Review Meetings; administer educational assessments for Annual Reviews and Re-evaluations; assist in developing educational plans and ensure timely implementation; confer with parents; assist in maintaining required records; collaborate with other Special Educators and Regular Education Teachers on joint cases; requires MA licensure in K-12 Special Education or appropriate credential, and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education; preferred candidates with substantial experience in regular and/or special education settings; instruction should align with standards-based practices, information literacy, technology, and MA Curriculum Frameworks or Common Core Standards; commitment to diversity and high-quality instruction for all students.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major emphasis on Special Education
- Appropriate Valid Massachusetts license, K-12 teaching experience
- Preference for substantial experience in regular and/or special education settings
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, ensuring all students have access to high-quality instruction, and closing the achievement gap
- Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills
- Experience in designing and implementing standards-based instruction
- Manage time and resources effectively
- Demonstrate culturally responsive teaching and competencies
- Knowledge of methods to integrate information literacy, technology and 21st Century Skills into the MA Curriculum Frameworks or Common Core Standards
