Job Summary
Provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curricular and extra-curricular programs. Essential Functions include meeting all requirements as outlined by the State of Ohio, knowing and obeying traffic laws and regulations, performing PTI prior to beginning route as dictated by Ohio laws, being the sole operator of the school bus, attending bus drivers’ meetings, fueling and keeping the bus clean, managing rider conduct, reporting serious discipline problems, delivering the bus for servicing and repairs as directed, and conducting related duties as assigned by transportation leadership. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue; occasional operation under inclement weather; occasional interaction with unruly children. Salary and work year to be established by the board.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hold a current Ohio Class B CDL license with School Bus and Passenger endorsement
- Be insurable with not more than four points on the Ohio driver’s license
- Complete and pass a T-8 physical yearly
- High moral character and good attendance record
- Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned
