Job Summary
Drive school buses safely and efficiently during morning and afternoon shifts, adhering to Ohio traffic laws and School Bus Operation Regulations. Perform pre-trip inspections, manage passenger conduct, and report serious discipline issues to supervisors. Deliver buses for servicing as directed and maintain vehicle cleanliness. Fuel vehicles as needed and attend district transportation meetings. Serve as a role model for students and staff, instilling ethical principles and democratic values. Operate the bus as the sole operator while managing occasional inclement weather and unruly children.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hold a current Ohio Class B CDL license with School Bus and Passenger endorsement
- Be insurable with not more than four points on the Ohio driver's license
- Complete and pass a T-8 physical yearly
- High moral character
- Good attendance record
- Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned
