Job Summary
Anticipated 1:1 Instructional Assistant position supporting a certificated teacher to reinforce instruction for an identified student in a classroom or learning environment. Responsibilities include reinforcing instruction within individual or small groups, monitoring student drills and assignments, assisting with implementing student behavior plans and lesson materials, preparing and organizing instructional materials, and data entry for daily ACCESS billing. Requires experience with children, including those with special needs; High School Diploma or Equivalency (Associates Degree or 48 post-secondary credits also noted); knowledge of academic principles and child development; ability to maintain confidentiality; strong English communication skills; and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications. The role is a school-based, instructional support position with regular attendance and collaboration with school personnel; located at Northampton High School within Northampton Area School District; 182 days per year; hours 6-7.5 per day; non-exempt status.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Associates Degree (or) Forty-eight post-secondary credits
- Experience with children including those with special needs
- Proficiency in English
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to operate computer and office equipment
- Maintain confidentiality
- CPR/AED/First Aid certifications
- Annual compliance with district requirements
- Regular attendance
- Ability to complete ACCESS billing logs
- CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and other related ACCESS billing requirements
