Job Summary

Design and develop next-generation RF, digital, and/or optical satellite communications systems and payload architectures. Support trade studies, define requirements, and perform system-level CONOPS development, functional analysis, and requirements decomposition. Execute link analysis, signal distortion, and capacity modeling using MATLAB and object-oriented platforms. Conduct hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-off activities while preparing for system test execution and verification. This 1st shift, 100% onsite role in El Segundo, California requires a U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's in Engineering or Physics, with a Master's preferred, and possess experience in satellite communications, phased array antennas, and tools like DOORs, Cameo, or Jira.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to Obtain U.S. Top Secret/SCI
  • Level 2: Typically, 2 years or more of work related experience
  • Experience with requirements allocation, verification and validation, and qualification
  • Experience with communications subsystems or units
  • Experience with DOORs, Cameo, Jira, or MS Project
  • Track record of success working in teams
  • This is a 1st shift position
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite
  • The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location
  • Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements
  • A 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Level 3: Typically, 5 years or more of work related experience
  • Level 4: Typically, 9 years or more of work related experience
  • Experience with digital communications
  • Experience with satellite or terrestrial communications systems and antenna theory
  • Experience in phased array antenna production and verification
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink, C++, or Python
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices, DFMAT, and design and process FMEAs
  • Experience working with suppliers on custom part procurement
