Job Summary
The Annuity Claims Manager leads and manages the daily operations of the annuity claims team to ensure timely, accurate and compliant processing of death and maturity claims. Provides strategic oversight, drives continuous improvement, serves as a subject matter expert, and collaborates cross-functionally to maintain regulatory and internal control standards. This hybrid role requires two days per week at the Zionsville corporate office and involves managing a team of processors/reviewers, setting performance goals, monitoring turnaround times and quality, ensuring compliance with state regulations and IRS guidelines, partnering with technology and transformation teams to automate manual processes, and reporting on operational metrics and risk issues. Responsibilities include staffing, coaching, performance reviews, process optimization, handling complex claims, supporting regulatory changes, and ensuring ongoing training and professional development for the team.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of annuity claims experience (preferred)
- 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of annuity contracts, death claims processing and regulatory compliance
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, collaboration and organizational skills
- Ability to coach and develop a team
- Experience in fast-paced environments and handling complex claims
