Job Summary
Animal Welfare Auditor II conducts facility, supplier, and partner audits to ensure high standards of animal welfare and ethical practices. Focus includes learning audit tools across at least one species with expansion to multi-species auditing. Responsibilities include performing audits across locations, preparing and delivering audit reports, maintaining confidentiality, following FACTA procedures, submitting time/expense reports, coordinating travel, meeting deadlines, communicating with clients and management, and supporting training/document updates. Requires independence, strong communication and problem-solving skills, foundational computer skills, and experience with audit evidence collection and industry terminology. Travel 60-80% across the United States; audits located nationwide with remote work options. Preferred bachelor’s degree in animal production/welfare and PAACO certifications (poultry or swine) with at least two years of related experience; ability to obtain certification if not already held.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree and education related to animal production and welfare is preferred
- A minimum of two years of experience and/or training in Animal production or welfare (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
- Hold active PAACO certifications (poultry or swine) or working to obtain
- Animal welfare or animal husbandry exposure required
- Computer proficiency required
- Possess working knowledge of livestock handling tools
- Ability to travel 60-80% to on site audits
- Travel frequency fluctuates throughout the year and can range from 60-80% with some trips beginning on Sunday evening
