Job Summary
Provide daily care for mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects by preparing diets, supporting veterinary programs, and maintaining exhibits to the highest standards. Monitor animal health and behavior while keeping accurate records, and participate in training and enrichment programs using operant conditioning techniques. Assist with guest interactions and collaborate with professionals, interns, and volunteers. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a life science field and experience in animal husbandry. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Zoology, Animal Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Professional animal care experience in a zoo, aquarium, wildlife facility, sanctuary, or similar setting
- Knowledge of animal husbandry, enrichment, and behavior training
- Experience using operant conditioning techniques
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various animal care environments
