Job Summary
Animal Processor at The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) handles daily animal processing, intake and follow-up exams, vaccines, weight checks, and health monitoring; coordinates movement of animals between departments and assists with transfers; may assist with humane euthanization and disposition of deceased animals; collaborates with volunteers and staff to provide compassionate, professional care and documentation, and maintains equipment and supplies; requires strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and adherence to the organization’s mission and values.
Required Qualifications
- One year of professional or volunteer experience working with animals in animal welfare, zoological organization, or other animal care field.
- Animal behavior knowledge including theory of positive reinforcement and temperament testing desired.
- Knowledge of veterinary care/animal health desired.
- Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, data entry and reporting.
