Job Summary
Animal Caretaker responsible for the welfare and environment of chickens, monitoring barn conditions and reporting findings to ensure a safe, productive setting. Performs light maintenance on facilities/equipment, documents tasks daily/weekly, observes bird health and feed/light/water supply, collects/disposes of mortality, moves birds and checks egg lines, cleans poultry houses, maintains ventilation systems, operates required equipment, follows safety policies, demonstrates laying hen husbandry, understands automated environmental and egg flow systems, and reports health and production data to the Production Manager/Supervisor; duties include moving birds using handling equipment and cleaning with pneumatic or pressurized water, with emphasis on animal welfare and compliance with company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalency preferred
- 1 year experience in agricultural environment and animal care is preferred
