Job Summary
Animal Caretaker responsibilities include attending to the welfare and environment of the chickens, monitoring barn conditions, and reporting findings to the Production Manager/Supervisor. Duties include documenting completed tasks, observing bird health, managing feed, light, air, and water, collecting mortality, moving birds between houses, inspecting egg lines for blockages, cleaning manure equipment and poultry houses, maintaining ventilation systems, safely operating equipment, following safety policies, understanding laying hen husbandry, operating automated environmental and egg flow computers, and performing other duties as assigned. The role requires high school diploma or equivalent and preferred experience in agricultural/animal care, with strong organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities, physical ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds, and a flexible schedule.
