Job Summary
Monitor bird health, feed, light, air, and water daily while documenting tasks on daily and weekly forms. Ensure chicken security by locking facility doors and collecting mortality, then place birds back into the system at night. Perform daily cleaning of manure belts, sweep poultry houses, and maintain ventilation systems. Safely operate equipment and automated environmental computers to track bird service activities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be self-directed and organized
- Ability to track and document all activities with correct forms and paperwork
- Strong communication skills so that others will understand both verbally and in writing
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work with a team
- Must enjoy working in close contact with animals
- Ability to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
- Record of good attendance with a flexible schedule
- Detail oriented
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalency preferred
- 1 year experience in agricultural environment and animal care is preferred
- Working knowledge of agricultural operations preferred
