Job Summary
Monitor bird health, feed, water, and light daily while ensuring facility security by locking doors and managing predation risks. Document all tasks on daily and weekly forms, collect and dispose of mortality, and sweep poultry houses. Maintain ventilation systems, operate automated environmental computers, and perform light maintenance on equipment. Safely operate moving bird equipment and clean manure belts. Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be self-directed and organized
- Ability to track and document all activities with correct forms and paperwork
- Strong communication skills so that others will understand both verbally and in writing
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work with a team
- Must enjoy working in close contact with animals
- Ability to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
- Record of good attendance with a flexible schedule
- Detail oriented
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalency preferred
- 1 year experience in agricultural environment and animal care is preferred
- Working knowledge of agricultural operations preferred
