Job Summary
Provide feed and water to animals daily, heat check and breed sows, and process piglets through castration, tail docking, and medication administration. Assist with farrowing by managing litter care and ensuring piglet warmth, while monitoring sows and litters for health issues requiring treatment. Maintain sanitation through cleaning, disinfecting, and pit draining; handle animal movements, assist with weaning, and keep accurate records adhering to biosecurity and safety protocols. This full-time role averages 43-45 hours a week, Monday through Friday with a rotating weekend. Join Christensen Farms to support the Farrowing and Breeding departments in ensuring the health and well-being of our swine herd.
Required Qualifications
