Job Summary
Provide safe, humane, and thorough handling and care for animals housed at the Kansas Humane Society, including sanitizing, cleaning, observing, and recording health and behavior. Implement infection prevention and shelter sanitation protocols to ensure holding areas and equipment are cleaned regularly, while following strict procedures for removing ill animals and maintaining foot baths. Remain current in humane animal husbandry and participate in training to carry out euthanasia safely and compassionately. Handle sick, injured, or deceased pets daily while managing physical demands such as lifting, restraining, and cleaning up to 100lb animals. Maintain timely, polite, and respectful customer service for donors and visitors, ensuring every individual entering the agency is treated with recognition and respect.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have reliable transportation
