Job Summary
Animal Care Technician at Altasciences responsible for the coordination, movement, and maintenance of facility equipment and supplies, sanitation through central cage wash, and in-life tasks. Performs basic husbandry for animals (non-human primates), conducts monthly environmental checks, and ensures data quality standards. Tasks include handling, restraining, and documenting animal health, performing cage cleaning, feeding, sanitation, enrichment, operating equipment (cage washers, autoclave), observing environmental conditions, distributing animals for studies, and supporting other departments. Requires completing training, complying with SOPs, GLP, and regulatory authorities (USDA, AAALAC), and participating in weekend/evening rotations. Strong reading/writing, safety, and interpersonal skills are essential; prior animal experience and proficiency with MS Office are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Minimum 1 year of related experience
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to read and interpret documents
