Job Summary
As a Companion Animal Specialist at Petco, you will be the primary expert and advocate for the health, welfare, and proper care of companion animals and aquatic life within the Pet Care Center. You will ensure exceptional animal care and habitat maintenance while supporting sales, merchandising, and inventory execution; educate customers and PCC partners on animal care standards; maintain clean habitats; and contribute to a collaborative team environment with a focus on safety, loss prevention, and customer service. You’ll balance hands-on animal care with operational duties, including documentation, wellness checks, and assisting with inventory and merchandising to support department goals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with or caring for companion animals and aquatic life
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion and ongoing maintenance of the Petco Animal Care Certification Program required
