Job Summary
Anesthesiology Physician needed for locum tenens coverage in Panorama City, CA. Schedule consists of Saturday and Sunday shifts (8 or 10 hours). Cases include general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, urology, ophthalmology (vitrectomy, cataract); vascular and thoracic cases are not required. Must hold an active California medical license and DEA. Board certification or eligibility within 2 years is required. The facility expects OR coverage with no requirement to supervise CRNAs, though prior perioperative experience is beneficial. Credentialing typically takes 60–90 days. AMN Healthcare provides malpractice insurance support and coordinates travel, lodging, rentals, and transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Must have an active California license
- Must have Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
- Must be board certified or board eligible within 2 years
- Locum tenens experience preferred (implicit in role)
- Operating Room experience
- Ability to work Saturdays and Sundays (8 or 10 hour shifts)
- Ability to perform across general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, otolaryngology, urology, ophthalmology (vitrectomy, cataract)
- No requirement to supervise CRNAs but helpful if experienced
