Job Summary
Manage anesthesia services for general surgery, orthopedics, and endoscopy during 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM shifts at St. Joseph Healthcare in Bangor, Maine. Provide home call coverage from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM approximately 24 weeks annually, with no overnight return to the hospital required. Focus exclusively on non-obstetrical, non-trauma, and non-cardiothoracic cases to maintain a predictable clinical environment. Maintain ACLS certification and hold a Maine medical license as a Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist. Required Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Eligible for Maine medical licensure
- ACLS certification
- 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM primary shift
- Home call from 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Full-time (1.0 FTE)
- Consistent afternoon/evening schedule
- Home call approximately 24 weeks per year
- Only 12 weekends annually
- Most overnight call periods require no return to the hospital
