Responsibilities include directing activities in the Anesthesia Department, medical management of patients, pre-anesthesia assessments, obtaining patient consent, discussing anesthetic options, induction and maintenance of anesthesia, and monitoring patients' physiological conditions. The role requires an M.D./D.O. degree, completion of anesthesia residency, and current physician licensure.
