Job Summary
Administers anesthesia to patients during surgery, monitoring their reaction and informing physicians of any adverse conditions. AAs manage all cases except Trauma & Cardiac, providing essential support in a team environment focused on patient care. Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories, discussing anesthetic plans, calibrating anesthesia systems, administering blood products, and executing emergency measures when complications arise.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Current, valid certificate of registration
- Written practice protocol consistent with section 4760.09 of the Revised Code
Desired Qualifications
- Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
