Job Summary
Anesthesia Technologist Supervisor leads perioperative anesthesia services, oversees daily operations, ensures proper setup of rooms and availability of anesthesia devices, oversees turnover and cleanliness of the OR, and provides training and education for anesthesia technicians and technologists. The role supervises assigned staff, conducts performance evaluations, coordinates with the Clinical Director and department leadership, collects data for process improvement reports, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (including Joint Commission and LA City safety obligations), and develops educational sessions and competencies for staff and rotating students. The position also monitors resource utilization, participates in budgeting and procurement, and supports patient safety initiatives within the OR and related surgical areas.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Graduate from accredited Anesthesia Technologists Program
- 5 years experience as an Anesthesia Technologist in a perioperative area
- 1 year supervisory/lead experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with other staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to act on and solve problems
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet timely deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to be a team leader and/or as a team player
- Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
- Knowledge of standard procedures and methods used within the Anesthesia areas within applicable Federal, State and other regulatory agencies
- Certified Anesthesiology Technician (ASATT) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
