Job Summary
Anesthesia Technician supports the anesthesiologist and anesthesia team by managing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, sterilizing and preparing devices, testing and troubleshooting machinery, and assisting with supply logistics in the operating room. Responsibilities include stocking carts and surgical suites, assisting with airway management and equipment needs, transporting anesthesia-related equipment and samples, maintaining records and inventory, preparing and setting up anesthetic equipment, assisting with blood product handling, room turnover between cases, and obtaining medications for the anesthesia providers. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, at least one year of healthcare experience or completion of a related program, and BLS certification; a Science degree can substitute for work experience. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of medical terminology, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and prior clinical or OR experience, with ability to work evenings and on-call as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year experience in a healthcare setting OR completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or similar healthcare-related training program
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science can substitute one year of work experience in healthcare
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period
